JOHN HEATH (León Trotsky) Baritone

He was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1985. He started his piano studies in 1997 with the teacher María Antonieta Vincenti. Later in 1998 he entered the Conservatory Juan José Landaeta where he studied piano with Professor Carlos Urbaneja and his first years of Lyrical Singing with Professor Gisela Holländer and Margot Parés-Reyna.

He has worked as soloist with different orchestras, Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, Simón Bolívar Venezuelan Youth Symphony, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Kammer Orchester Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, JORCAM. He debuted at the Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas with the role of Masetto in Don Giovanni in 2004. Once in Europe, he has performed in such halls as Teatro Real of Madrid, Madrid National Auditorium, Infanta Isabel Theater, Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Reina Victoria Theater, Theater of the Champs Elysees, Teatro Bernardim Ribeiro, among others.

During the years 2006-2009 he is a student of the Reina Sofia School of Music, in the Chair of Canto "Alfredo Kraus" of the Ramón Areces Foundation, under the tutelage of professors Tom Krause and Manuel Cid. He has participated in Magisterial Lessons of Teresa Berganza and Reri Grist in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Dese 2009 is a student of the teacher Ana Fernaud and since 2013 of the teacher Carlos Chausson.

Among his operatic repertoire we find roles like: Don Giovanni, in the opera of the same name, Guglielmo in Cosí fan Tutte, Don Cassandro in La finta semplice, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Il Conte de Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, all of WA Mozart Marullo in Rigoletto by G. Verdi. Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Belcore in L'elisir d'amore, both by G. Donizetti. The King Melchior in Amahl and the night vissitors and Ben in The Telephone, both from G.C. Menotti, among others
He is currently a student of the teacher Vincenzo Spatola, with whom he receives improvement classes.
